Seljahjallagil
Seljahjallagil is a very interesting and rugged canyon in the inland area near Lake Mývatn. During the thaw, a river runs through the canyon, and its bed is still noticeable in the summer when no water flows through it. Part of the canyon is quite wide, while another part is made up of high rock walls of twisted basalt columns. There is an unmarked path leading here that begins at the Hverfjall crater, but if you are not an experienced traveler and driver, you should skip this place.
