Hatta is a place of magnificent views of the countryside around the town of Vík í Mýrdal.
The lake below you is called Heiðarvatn and you can extend your journey to it.
The best way to get to the Hatta viewpoint is from the church in Vík í Mýrdal, after the initial steep climb you will almost walk on flat ground, the path is 3.5 kilometres long, the elevation is 450 metres and it takes about an hour to get there.
