Vík í Mýrdal Campsite

The campsite in the southernmost town of Iceland, Vík, serves as a base and transit hub for up to 500 travelers during peak season. The campsite has recently undergone a successful renovation and expansion, now offering travelers quite good facilities. A major advantage is its excellent location. You can easily take a walk to Vikurfjara beach, from where you can see the famous Reynisdrangar rocks. If you want to hike further, you can, for instance, go to the Reynisfjall hill, where you can find nesting puffins in the summer. Just a few kilometers away is the famous black sand beach Reynisfjara and the rock formations of Dyrhólaey. Alternatively, you can visit the Hatta viewpoint.
