Faxi, also known as Vatnsleysufoss, is a relatively small waterfall on the Tungufljót River. It is located on the well-known Golden Circle route, where, amidst attractions such as Gullfoss waterfall and the famous Geysir geothermal area, it appears as a modest piece in the mosaic of the Icelandic landscape. Nevertheless, it is a pleasant waterfall, and despite being in the heart of tourist traffic, its inconspicuousness means you won’t be surrounded by thousands of tourists, unlike at Gullfoss, for example.
You can find Faxi waterfall near Road 35, about 8 km northeast of the town of Reykholt.
