Brúarfoss is undoubtedly the most azure waterfall in the world! Despite being located on the Golden Circle route, it has been relatively overlooked until recently. This is likely because it is less accessible and does not allow for bus access directly to it, making it unsuitable for large group tours. However, if you make the effort to visit Brúarfoss, you will be rewarded with stunning scenery.
It is also one of the most photogenic waterfalls, and you can capture beautiful photos here at almost any time.
Brúarfoss is somewhat hidden in the Icelandic shrubs, but nowadays, there are well-trodden paths leading to it. To park, use either the official waterfall parking lot (GPS: 64.240150, -20.523750), from where you can walk upstream (you’ll pass the Miðfoss waterfall on the way). A new parking lot is currently being constructed closer to the waterfall, which will save you from walking through muddy terrain.
