A popular viewpoint overlooking the Eyjafjörður fjord, the harbor, the city of Akureyri, and the surrounding mountains Súlur, Strýta Bunga, and many others. Just a few kilometers to your left is Akureyri Airport, and sometimes you might be lucky enough to watch planes taking off or landing from here.
There are several tables for sitting and relaxing, and plenty of parking spaces available even during the peak season.
This is one of the traditional stops on the northern section of Route 1, located right at the entrance or exit of the new Vaðlaheiði tunnel.
