camp Smiðjunes

A very simple and rather neglected campsite in a beautiful landscape by the river Jökulsá í Lóni and near the Hvannagil canyon. It is better to have a 4×4 drive to access the campsite. Navigation to this campsite can be complicated; do not drive into the mountains and do not cross rivers!
