Þórisvatn
Þórisvatn is currently the largest lake in Iceland. Originally, Þórisvatn was the second largest Icelandic lake, with Þingvallavatn being the largest at 84 km². However, in connection with construction work related to the power plant located at its southern edge, the lake expanded by approximately 15 km².
