Halldórsgil is a smaller canyon in the Friðland að Fjallabaki area. Even though it is not very interesting in itself and there are countless similar places on the island, thousands of people pass through it every year. Halldórsgil is the gateway to Grænihryggur, the area’s famous natural attraction.
Halldórsgil is 8 kilometres east of Landmannalaugar and is easily accessible from the F249, where you will find a small car park around a bend.
