Grænagil

Grænagil is a truly fascinating canyon located in the interior of Iceland, through which the Brennisteinsöldukvísl River flows. If there’s a place in nature where you can see all the possible colors of the non-living spectrum, it’s right here. You can find Grænagil about a 15-minute walk from the interior center of Landmannalaugar. Given that many sections of the Grænagil canyon are quite narrow, it is marked as a one-way path, and ideally, you should walk from west to east, that is, from Brennisteinsalda mountain towards Landmannalaugar.
