Sticafoss

Sticafoss waterfall is definitely one of the most omitted of all Icelandic waterfall. Similarly as in case of Seljalandsfoss, there is a cave behind the waterfall and therefore you can literally go around it and enjoy it from all possible angles (just be cautious, there are falling rock from the top of the cave due to the erosion).

If you make a stop here, you wont regret it, I promise! Unlike by Seljalandsfoss, you´ll be here probably all alone.

How to Find Sticafoss:

Sticafoss is next to the road F249 between the Seljalandsfoss waterfall and Þórsmörk. There are some smaller rivers to cross, so if you do not want to go by car, the first river crossing is about 5 kilometers (3 miles) before Sticafoss, so it is doable on foot if you´d wade the rivers (streams). Best place (area along the road) is to park here (GPS: 63.680097, -19.754969). Then it is about 45 minutes to go to the waterfall

GPS coordinates of the Sticafoss waterfall: 63.670307,-19.737836 Take me there!
