Gígjökull
Gígjökull is one of the outlets of the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. You can reach this location via the F249 road, and you have two options. Either you park your car at a parking lot near the road and walk to Gígjökull, which takes about half an hour, or you can drive directly to the parking lot near Gígjökull, placing you almost at the site. In this case, you will need to ford a river.
The Gígjökull glacier outlet is scientifically interesting due to its significant role in the eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano in 2010.
