Gígjökull is one of the glacier splays of the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. You can reach the site by taking the F249 road and there are two options. Either leave your car in the parking lot near the road and walk to Gígjökull, which will take about half an hour, or drive to the parking lot to Gígjökull and you will be almost there. In this case, you have to ford the river.
