Iceland is rich in very clean lakes, and Langisjór, located just a short distance from the Vatnajökull glacier, is one of the cleanest. With its shape (2×20 kilometers) and varied surroundings, it offers many unforgettable hiking opportunities and, above all, breathtaking views. Due to its appearance and complete remoteness, you can enjoy the local nature almost entirely in solitude and intimacy.
There is a parking lot with restrooms and a very basic campsite that offers nothing more than a piece of land where, with a bit of luck (if it’s not too windy), you can survive the night.
Langisjór is in the central part of Iceland, at the very end of the F235 road, after you have forded countless rivers.
