One of the most beutiful waterfalls of the icelandic highladns – that is Ófærufoss. The waterfall falls into the Eldgjá canyon. With its lenghtof almost 50 kilometers, and 600 meters deep, it is the largest volcanic canyon in the world. And here, you can walk at its bottom. There is a couple of walking paths all around and you can easily spend here several hours and still be amazed.
How to find Ófærufoss:
Ófærufoss waterfall is few kilometers (miles) off the road F208 mid way between Landmannalaugar and the Ring Road (there are several rivers to cross in both direction!). You can park your car at this parking lot (with toilets). From there on it is about 15 minutes to go easy hike.
