Kirkjufoss
Kirkjufoss (Church Waterfall) is a 40-meter high waterfall on the river Jökulsá í Fljótsdal. Together with the Faxi and Stuðlafoss waterfalls, it forms part of the so-called ‘waterfall circuit.’
However, make sure not to confuse this waterfall with another Icelandic waterfall of a similar name – Kirkjufellsfoss.
In the breathtaking landscape of eastern Iceland (not unlike that of Norway), the best way to reach it is on foot from Laugarfell.
