Eldhraun
Eldhraun is an enormous lava field (565 km² – nearly the same size as the entire city of New York!!) resulting from the eruption of the Laki volcano (1783-1784). Covered in moss, it creates stunning panoramas of Icelandic nature.
You can find Eldhraun southwest of the town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur.
