Alxlafoss (or Axlarfoss) on Hólmsá river, even not more than just 8 meters tall is really nice and photogenic waterfall in a bit forgotten part of icelandic central highlands under the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. You probably won´t make it to the edge of the waterfall, but even the views from the edge of the canyon are impressive.

Axlafoss is located 1 kilometer off the F910 approx. 30 kilometers north west of Ring Road. The closest town here is Kirkjubæjarklaustur.
