Efstifoss

Efstifoss is a 20-meter high waterfall located on the upper course of the Skógá River. It is the first in a long series of about 15 waterfalls that line the popular Fimmvörðuháls trail.

With its regularly rectangular shape, Efstifoss strikingly resembles its larger counterpart, Skógafoss, and symbolically closes this waterfall trail.

The hike from the parking lot at Skógafoss to Efstifoss is nearly 8 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 582 meters.
