Sveinsstekksfoss is the last waterfall on the Fossá River (waterfall river) in the aptly named Fossádalur Valley (waterfall valley). It might not surprise you that the waterfall also has another unofficial name – Fossárfoss (waterfall waterfall). The waterfall is about 15 meters high and is quite rugged, set in a rocky crevice. You can admire it from both sides of the Fossá River, with the traditional view and lookout point built on the left bank. From the right bank, you need to approach the waterfall via a footpath, the journey is longer but manageable for everyone, and the views of the waterfall are more interesting. Sveinsstekksfoss is located 500 meters from road no. 1, about 15 kilometers north of the town of Djúpivogur in the eastern fjords.
