Magnahellir is a fairly small cave in the area of the Hafrahvammagljúfur canyon, which is the deepest canyon in Iceland. The cave itself isn’t all that interesting, but the way here is beautiful. It isn’t a demanding trail, but a bit of caution is needed, as some sections are quite steep and the surface is rather slippery.

Your reward for the effort will be more unspoiled views of the Hafrahvammagljúfur canyon and the Jökulsá á Brú river. From the canyon viewpoint to here and back, it will take you roughly 45 minutes.
