Haubakkarsfoss (Selbrekkufoss)

This unnamed waterfall can be found on the Vestdalsá river just a few kilometers northeast of the port town Seyðisfjörður.

There is a small viewing terrace built near the waterfall, but moving around the area is easy, and you can choose where you want to view the waterfall from. Besides the waterfall, there are already beautiful views of the Seyðisfjörður bay landscape from here.

The easiest way to get to the waterfall is to park in the Háubakkar area and head uphill. The path is about a kilometer long and can be completed in 25 minutes.

If you want to extend your walk, you can set out from here to Lake Vestdalsvatn, which is located 5 kilometers upstream along the Vestdalsá river.
