The view from the Esja massif at an altitude of almost 840 meters offers beautiful vistas across the entire Höfuðborgarsvæðið region all the way to Reykjavik. It takes about an hour and a half to walk from the parking lot to the Steinn viewpoint, which is almost a family walk. From the Steinn viewpoint, the path becomes steep, and in the last few meters, you will have to overcome a few more challenging sections. However, with caution and a bit of skill, you can certainly handle them. If you wish to continue further to the highest point of the Esja mountain range, you won’t encounter any additional difficult sections.
