Hvalárgljúfur is a pure canyon of the river Hválá with winding slopes that rise to a height of several hundred meters. You can find Hvalárgljúfur far in the untouched part of Strandir. From the place where road F649 ends, it is necessary to walk for about another hour. At Hvalárfoss waterfall, you must first cross the bridge over the river Hvalá and only then head southwest.
