Berserkjahraun is a 4000-year-old lava field located approximately in the middle of the northern part of the Snaefellsnes peninsula, halfway between Stykkishólmur and Grundarfjörður. The name is derived from a saga that tells the story of two Swedish berserkers—warriors. Berserkjahraun is easily accessible, as road 558 Berserkjahraunsvegur runs directly through the lava field.
