Rjúkandi (Rjúkandafoss) is a 93-meter-high waterfall on the Yst i Rjukandi River. It is one of the few large waterfalls in northern Iceland and is located just a few hundred meters from Route 1.

What makes it interesting is its shape: in the first part of the waterfall, Rjúkandi is solid, then it splits into three streams, which merge again into a single flow of the Yst i Rjukandi River below the waterfall.

Rjúkandi is a very convenient stop along Route 1, with an easy walk from the parking lot to the viewpoint below the waterfall.
