Selvallafoss, known as the Sheep Waterfall, is one of the lesser-known waterfalls in Iceland. Despite this, it is incredibly beautiful and one of those places where you can easily lose track of time. You might spend an hour there but feel like only five minutes have passed.
The waterfall features several cascades, with the highest part being around 11 meters tall. There’s no single best spot to view the waterfall from; it’s up to you to find your perfect angle.
In addition to the waterfall itself, the site offers stunning views of a large part of the northern coast of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.
Selvallafoss is located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, right by road number 56, just a few kilometers from the junction with road number 54. The waterfall isn’t visible from the road, but you’ll recognize the spot by a small parking lot.
