Seyðisfjörður

Seyðisfjörður is a beautiful town in the eastern fjords of Iceland, famous for its colorful wooden houses and the vibrant pathway leading to the church. Its population of just under 700 multiplies several times a week, not only with visitors and tourists looking for a detour from the Ring Road, but especially with the arrival of the ferry MS Norröna, which connects Iceland with continental Europe, stopping at the Faroe Islands.

Seyðisfjörður is located 25 kilometers east of Egilsstaðir via road number 93. This route can be quite dangerous under adverse weather conditions!

You can reach Seyðisfjörður  from continental Europe too!: the MS Norröna ferry of the Faroese company Smyril Line operates once a week, and twice a week during the peak season. You can reach Seyðisfjörður by ocean either from the Danish port of Hirtshals (two long days on the open sea) or from the Faroese port of Tórshavn, in which case you will arrive just overnight.
