Bakkagerði

Bakkagerði with its 100 inhabitants is the biggest settlement in the Borgarfjörður Eystri area in the East Iceland and is one of the greatest places for hikers to visit in Iceland. You can find kittie wakes and puffins on the Hafnarhólmi rock nearby. There is a camp here too.

How to Find Bakkagerði:

Bakkagerði is about 70 kilometers (45 miles) north east from the town of Egilsstaðir on the shore of the Borgarfjörður Eystri fjord.
