Merkjaklettur is an easily accessible rocky beach. While it’s not a suitable place for swimming, it is fantastic for bird watching, as you can be directly beneath the cliffs and observe nesting birds, including puffins, from an unusual angle from below and, with a bit of caution, even quite closely.
