Hraunhafnartangi
Hraunhafnartangi is a location on the northern coast that shares a fate similar to that of the planet Pluto. Until 2016, Hraunhafnartangi was considered the northernmost point of mainland Iceland. However, after re-measurement, it was revealed that the northernmost point is actually the nearby cape Rifstangi.
Sad, but true…
A walk to this location takes about an hour through flat terrain.
