This geothermal pool right on the edge of the Halllandsbjarg cliff is undoubtedly one of the most romantic spots in Iceland. From the warm water, you’ll have a view of the Eyjafjörður bay, incoming planes to the local airport, and of course, the town of Akureyri across the way.
There is quite a strong current in the pool, and just a few meters below it is the edge of the cliff leading directly into the waters of the Atlantic, so be very careful about your safety. The water is also not very warm, but if you find it too cold, you can move upstream, as the higher upstream you go, the warmer the water gets.
You can reach the pool from a nearby small parking area heading down towards the ocean.
