Fiskbyrgin á Gufuskálum

The remnants of stone huts that were used for drying fish. Here, you’ll weave through a lava field, and the structures themselves were made from lava stones. It’s an interesting glimpse into Iceland’s history, a place that’s not essential to visit, but if you’re here, it will add a deeper dimension to your visit. Fiskbyrgin á Gufuskálum is located 3 kilometers west of Hellisandur on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. From the parking lot off road 574, you can reach it in 5 minutes.
