Dveghamrar

Dverghamrar, which translates to “Dwarf Cliffs” in Icelandic, is a fascinating natural formation located in the southeast of Iceland, near the town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. This site is known for its unique and stunning basalt columns, which are believed to have been formed during the cooling of lava flows from volcanic activity. The name Dverghamrar stems from local folklore, which tells of dwarves or elves inhabiting the area.

The Dverghamrar rocks are located close to the Foss á Siðu waterfall, South Iceland approx. 10 kilometers east of Kirkjubæjarklaustur.
