The campsite on the Laugavegur trail is the first one from the Þórsmörk area, so if you’re taking the classic route from north to south, you’ll be facing the final stage. Nearby are beautiful viewpoints over the Markarfljótsgljúfur canyon, which you definitely shouldn’t miss.

The campsite is also accessible by car via the F261 mountain road with a turn-off leading to the campsite. There is a steep hill before the campsite, and after heavy rains, it might be challenging to drive up, so make sure to check the road conditions.
