Brimketill

Brimketill is a bowl-shaped rock formation created by erosion. Due to its shape, it is often referred to as the Giant’s Kettle and is usually filled with water from the Atlantic.

Brimketill is located on the southern coast of the Reykjanes Peninsula, near the airport, and is a popular tourist stop.

The impression Brimketill leaves on you will greatly depend on the time you visit. During calm seas, it looks like a beautiful pool, almost inviting you for a swim. During stormy tides, it resembles a boiling and dangerous cauldron. At such times, waves hitting the viewing platform are not uncommon.
