The viewpoint offers an absolutely fascinating landscape of the Kerlingarfjöll mountains, often referred to as the Witch Mountains. From here, you can see the mountain peaks of Fannborg, Hverahnúkur, and Hveradalshnúkur, which are often covered with snow until late summer. You’ll also find fumaroles and geothermal streams in the Hveradalir valley.
This viewpoint is located just a few dozen meters away from the parking lot at the end of the Hveradalvegur mountain road. It is accessible for those of you who can no longer undertake long hikes but still want to witness the raw beauty of Icelandic nature.
