Þrístapar (Triple Hillocks) is a place where, on January 12, 1930, last public execution was performed and Agnes Magnúsdóttir and Friðrik Sigurðsson were beheaded as a punishment for their crimes – double homicide.
How to find Þrístapar:
The place lies in between fields in North west Iceland. There is a tiny parking lot (GPS: 65.501125, -20.398430) and the footpath will take you to the place in 5 minutes.
