Svínafellsjökull
The beautifully bluish glacier tongue, that’s Svínafellsjökull, part of Iceland’s largest glacier, Vatnajökull. If I had to choose one place to see a glacier in Iceland, it would be here.
By the way, this is one of the filming locations for the series Game of Thrones.
Svínafellsjökull is just a few kilometers east of Skaftafell, in the southern part of Iceland. From the new parking lot, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the glacier.
