The Básar campsite is hidden somewhere in the beautiful, shallow interior of Iceland, just behind the volcano and glacier Eyjafjallajökull.
You can find the Básar campsite nestled within the shallow depths of Iceland’s interior. From the Ring Road, head along the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Sticafoss on Route 249, which eventually turns into the very challenging F249 road. Several rivers need to be crossed, ranging from easy and small ones to very challenging ones like the Steinholtsá River, which has claimed lives during crossings.
