The campsite near the Sigurðarskáli mountain hut in the Kverkjökull glacier area is almost at the end of F902 road. Grassy areas have been built for tents. However, the entire car parking area is always somewhat sloped, and it is quite difficult, if at all possible, to find a spot where you will stand straight.
For an additional fee, you can use the indoor kitchen and common area in the Sigurðarskáli hut as well as the showers.
Attractions in the area include a shorter trek to the peak of Virkisfell, a more challenging climb to Biskupsfell, and of course, the nearby Kverkjökull glacier.
