Þjóðveldisbærinn Stöng are houses built in 1974 as a reconstructed Viking village, with builders striving to use period-accurate technologies as much as possible. For an authentic experience, you can visit the nearby original farm, Stöng í Þjórsárdal, which was buried under volcanic ash in 1104.
Þjóðveldisbærinn Stöng is located near road no. 32, close to the Hjálparfoss waterfall. You can easily park at the nearby parking lot and step back into history.
