If you can’t imagine how powerful and mighty the nature of Iceland is, then know that these two bent pieces of steel are all that remains of the bridge over the Gígjukvísl River after a flood swept through.

The Gígjukvísl River Bridge Memorial can be found right along the Ring Road near Skaftafell.

The site is also known as the Skeiðará Bridge Monument.
