Núpsstaður

Núpsstaður is an abandoned village in southeastern Iceland, located near the famous mountain Lómagnúpur. The village is home to Núpsstaðakirkja church, which became the first protected building in Iceland in 1930.

You can find Núpsstaður almost exactly halfway between the town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur and Skaftafell National Park, in the southern part of Iceland.
