Kattarauga

Kattarauga (Cat’s Eye) is a pond notable for its two floating islets that move according to the wind and water current. The pond holds a place in local folklore, with some believing it symbolizes the nine lives of a cat, while others attribute to it a magical ability to attract and engulf someone.
Kattarauga has been a protected natural area since 1975, with an average diameter of only about 10 meters, surrounded by a stone block pathway.
You can find Kattarauga in northwest Iceland in the Vatndal area, just a few meters from road 722 and about 30 kilometers south of Blönduós.
