Höfði is a peninsula on the eastern side of Lake Mývatn, filled with fascinating features. Thousands, perhaps tens of thousands, of mature trees, the lava pillars of Kálfastrandavogar, and an incredible tranquility. If you’re in Iceland and miss a somewhat continental environment, you’ll find it here.
There is a parking lot right at the entrance to the recreational area. From there, you can walk around until your legs start to ache.
And keep in mind, the most beautiful views of the lake are from the back part of Höfði.
