One of Iceland’s most famous rock formations is the Elephant Head on the island of Heimaey. Many photographers travel to the island solely for this reason. In the late afternoon and evening, the sun can create a beautiful backdrop in the sky.
You can find the Elephant Head at the foot of Blátindur Mountain, and it is easily and clearly visible from the island’s beautiful 18-hole golf course.
