Camp Happy Campsite

The campsite with basic amenities in the village of Njarðvík near Keflavik Airport is mainly practical due to its location – ideal for those with an early morning flight or returning a camper van. The staff is usually friendly, sometimes offering free coffee. The facilities include toilets, showers, and outdoor sinks, with no shelter and only cold water, which is very uncomfortable in cold weather.

The main issue with the place is cleanliness, as the showers are often dirty, there is a lot of litter, and mess and unpleasant odor are everywhere. Additionally, there is significant noise in the early morning hours when other guests are leaving, which significantly reduces the quality of sleep.

It is a place that serves its purpose as an emergency overnight stay near the airport, but it certainly does not offer the comfort or peace that can be found in other campsites in Iceland.
