Fardagafoss is a lesser-known Icelandic waterfall. The surrounding landscape is beautiful, and the shorter, approximately 20-minute trek from the parking lot is pleasant. Along the way, you’ll pass another nearly 20-meter high waterfall, which, despite its size, remains unnamed. According to legend, there is a cave behind Fardagafoss where trolls have hidden a treasure. No one has found it yet, but perhaps you will be the lucky one.
You can find Fardagafoss on road number 93, about 4 kilometers east of the town of Egilsstaðir. There is a parking lot by the road (GPS: 65.267572, -14.332954), from which you will need to continue on foot to reach the waterfall.
