Skeiðsöxl are cliffs located on the northeastern coast of the Tjörnes Peninsula along the shore of Öxarfjörður. Near Road 85 – Norðausturvegur, there is a small parking area, and the whole region might seem unremarkable at first glance. However, upon closer inspection, you will discover that tens of thousands of pairs of various bird species nest here, raising their young each year. Cormorants, puffins, and petrels are the most represented species.
