Litlanesfoss, along with Svartifoss and Aldeyjarfoss, is another of Iceland’s waterfalls characterized by basalt columns. Standing at 30 meters tall with an interesting structure, it would be an appealing destination in many places in Iceland. However, here it primarily serves as a path to another waterfall – Hengifoss.
Litlanesfoss is located approximately 35 kilometers southwest of Egilsstaðir. Park at the Hengifoss waterfall parking lot and hike upstream along the Hengifossá river for about 20-25 minutes to reach it.
